I have seen it time and time again...
DISCOURAGEMENT! Let me start by saying, its good to look at a magazine or, fitness personality and say "I want to look like her(or better)". Initially without proper knowledge you are setting yourself up for failure through disappointment(Hey wait a minute Fyrare this was supposed to be encouraging). Hear me out..Most people don't know that a lot of us (including myself and especially bodybuilders) Know a LOT about manipulating the human body through food science. Did you know we cut out body's water retention for photo shoots and sometimes video shoots as well. This can drastically change our appearance for a few days(safely). Back to the point though, I have seen a few females i know personally say "screw it i'm just not going to eat as much...WRONG! By not eating, you are telling your body something is wrong...in turn your body is saying.."fine no prob I got this"(possibly in a George Lopez voice). Your body is then hoarding ALL of the fat you take in(remember you aren't eating much so your body thinks it is in a defensive mode to stay alive since food appears to be scarce. Small meals many many Small meals...This will keep your metabolism in high gear throughout the day, we will get into what to eat and what not to eat in a future post. Lets set some realistic goals for 4-6 weeks at a time and see where we are at each time, I am here to help NOTE: I will be setting up a Q & A area on here shortly.
